In addition to log cabins, you can also find traditionally colored houses in Lapland. This characteristic, red-painted, wooden house was built in the 19thcentury. Fortunately, it has retained many authentic details after its renovation. The house lies on the large land of a reindeer herder – along with five other cottages – and is ideal for families or a larger group.
The spacious living room on the ground floor has a warm atmosphere due to the wooden boards on the walls and the traditional stone fireplace. The kitchen is well equipped with fridge, stove, oven, microwave and dishwasher. Downstairs there are two bedrooms and the electric sauna with shower and toilet. Upstairs there are two bedrooms (with three and four beds respectively) as well as a second shower and toilet.
At the edge of the lake there is a traditional wood-fired sauna and a ‘kota’, a typical Lappish hut where you can make a cozy fire to enjoy together. In summer the use of the outdoor sauna is included, in winter this is an optional extra.
This very cozy house takes you back in time, but without sacrificing any comfort! The house is also ideal for families with children as there is plenty of space to play. Note: this house is located on the property of a reindeer herder – along with Hideaway 10 – so there might be less privacy.
